Prison Committee Report

We have begun a book study project with the men on the East Side of the California Men's Colony (CMC) using Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth. We are also using the workbook that Oprah and Tolle put together for their 10-week worldwide broadcast several months ago. So far the conversations that have arisen from that reading have been very fruitful and engaging.

We are looking forward to a fellowship day with the men in late June of this year. They will be able to sit together, hear a dharma talk and socialize from 9 am to 3 pm.

On the West Side of CMC, even though they have lost one of their volunteers, they are continuing to meet twice a week for practice and teaching. The men are also now being visited once per month by two senior Zen teachers that drive from LA (who also visit the men on the East Side).
