Once again, WHS members will work together to staff the Avila Beach polling site for the primary election on June 2. Many thanks to Russ Hodin for again taking on the Inspector role which means he is responsible for all the work that occurs before election day and on election day. He is on duty from 6AM when polling site set up begins and during the time the polls are open from 7AM until 8PM. He is then responsible for closing up the polling site, securing the ballots and returning them to election headquarters, duties which typically do not end until about 9PM or after. He certainly deserves a big round of applause!
However, the success of the polling site doesn’t rest entirely on his shoulders, fortunately he has a willing staff of volunteers who will ensure that everyone who comes to vote or turn in their ballot is able to do that in a timely manner. Hats off to Karen Boessow, Mary Martin, Ferri Erickson, Kristy Mooney, Kate Christensen, Linda Shotwell and Sharon Rippner for working the primary election in either the morning or evening shift! Not only do we render a good service for our community, but our effort earns money for the EB program to fund other community efforts. Thanks to all for your participation!!
