Chris Fortin, Hoka Soko , is a Soto Zen priest and transmitted teacher in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. She began practicing at SFZC in 1976, is founding and guiding teacher of Dharma Heart Zen and a senior teacher with the Everyday Zen Foundation .
She was an MFT psychotherapist for many years, co founded Veterans Path to provide refuge for returning Iraq and Afghan veterans, currently co leads retreats for Wildland Firefighters https://fire.sfzc.org/ and is an Interfaith Leader in the Sonoma County Sanctuary Coalition .
