Sustaining Being Mindful of Race

Join on Zoom     Meeting ID: 89708208334    Passcode: WHS

Sustaining Being Mindful of Race will meet Thursday, July 21st, at 6:30 on Zoom. Everyone is welcome!

Tonight we'll be talking about Policing in America and taking a look at where it got its roots. A book that was published last year called "America on Fire: The Untold History of Police Violence and Black Rebellion Since the 1960s" gives us a comprehensive view. There's an interview below to give you a good synopsis.
Some things to think about prior to the evening and as you are watching or listening are:

1. What if anything, did you learn from listening to the interview on Amanpour and Company?
2. What are some of the reactions that you experienced while seeing the video with the police and Emmanuel Acho?
3. Thinking about how dukkha arises, how can we work with patterns of reactivity that perpetuate the patterns of systemic injustice?

Please watch the following videos before the meeting.

Hope you will join us as we mindfully consider this question on race.
