Nearly all meditation techniques help the meditator to be mindfully present, focusing on sensory experience, the body or the contents of mind. Meditation can prepare us to become more present in our lives, but bringing this ability into our daily lives is a different step altogether. This talk will bring together modern psychological perspectives and Buddhist psychology to examine what it means to be, or not be, in the present moment in the midst of our lives, as well as in meditation.
