A Class from White Heron Sangha
Core Buddhism Class Series
by Rosemary Donnell
Beginning in January of 2019 I plan to offer the Core Buddhism Class Series, as I have done several times each year since 1977. Many new members of the Sangha may not know about this class. Its official name is “The Core of the Buddha’s Teachings and Its Relationship to Meditation.” For brevity’s sake we call it “The Core Buddhism Class.” We meet weekly for five weeks; each meeting lasts two and a quarter hours, usually on Wednesdays 6:00-8:15pm. There’s time for lecture, meditation, questions and some discussion.
Since it’s held in my home in Morro Bay, we are able to have a nice break with tea and snacks. Also since it’s in my home, the full details aren't advertised to the public on our website. I maintain an e-mail distribution list for those who might want to take the class at some point. When a class is announced, those on the list are notified. If the class doesn’t fill up from the list, it may then be advertised, but only via flyer at Sunday evening Sangha. Once you’re on the list, you stay on the list until you ask to be removed. Consequently, if one class doesn’t work for your schedule, the next one might.
If you’re not on the “want class” list that I maintain and think that at some point you might be interested, it’s easy to get on the list. All you need to do is send me an e-mail and let me know you want to be on the list. My e-mail address is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
